Cryptic has released its debut trailer for Star Trek Online. The video showcases ship design and ship to ship combat with stunning renders of Starfleet and Borg ships in full scale battles.
You’ll also get a look at humanoid avatars and combat. Old favorites include the Andorians, Klingons and members of the Borg collective. The world settings run the gambit from generic desert landscape number one from the original series to fantastic vistas that take you far beyond your television experiences.

So after all the hype and wondering this is what we get? A trailer showing off lackluster game play and graphics. Hopefully they kick it up a few notches or else it’ll Epic Fail like ST:E did. Although have to admit the entire franchise never did translate well to the video game medium.
These are the best MMO graphics i’ve ever seen! I can’t wait now.
You know as a non-Star trek fan the first thing I thought about this trailer was “why are there giant cubes shooting things ?”
Yeah and if it was star wars you would be asking why are there giant spheres shooting things or triangles
don’t you be talkin’ bout my star wars
To be honest that game looks awesome, just got started on wow a few days ago and hate it but now i want star trek online!

This looks to be an interesting day for gaming, i’m not really an mmo fan but I just might buy this one. Build your own ship, battle the borg, make it with sexy aliens chicks? Damn it Jim! Do you know how many ships are going to be named enterprise?
Always wanted to be the pride of Starfleet… Fascinating.
