Couple Name Gaming as Cause for Neglect

This has to be the one of the best quotes I’ve ever read in an article:
“They had food; they just chose not to give it to their kids because they were too busy playing video games,” the prosecutor told the Reno Gazette-Journal.
According an article by the Associated Press, a couple from Nevada each face a maximum sentence of twelve years from two counts of child neglect, to which they pleaded guilty.
It was not indicated how exactly the couple’s situation was brought to the attention of child services, but after social workers took the children to the hospital, doctors had to shave the head of one child whose hair was horribly matted with cat urine.
I can’t disassociate myself from this and pretend I’m not absolutely horrified. Some people just simply should not be allowed to breed.

That is total neglect. I am sure its more than just video games. Any good parent would take care of their kids. They have deeper issues than the blame for video games. I dont think they would be good at the Game Sims 2. If they cannot care for their own family, how can the care for a virtural one. But all jokes aside, i hope they do get the max sentence for that.
