fandomania1 Cosplayers as Art? An Interview with Elena Dorfman

Let’s take a break from E3 for a minute to focus on something that involves much more people in crazy costumes. Riott.com recently interviewed Elena Dorfman, photographer and author of a new art book called, “Fandomania: Characters & Cosplay.” The book features pictures of people dressed up as different video game and anime characters. Dorfman traveled to several conventions and other fan-based events and set up her own little booth to photograph the people decked out in the more interesting costumes. The result was a 144-page photo book that blurs the lines between fantasy and reality and explores the identities of the people behind the masks. You can check out more photos from the book and order your own copy here.
