Conan Demo Hits Xbox Live

Right now on Xbox Live you can download the new demo for the upcoming action game, Conan (not to be confused with the upcoming MMORPG, Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures). The game will put you in the shoes of the infamous barbarian as you seek revenge on those who burned down your village. The demo will allow you to play through one part of the game where you rescue a woman’s crew from captivity. I actually sat and played through the demo, and honestly, I was not impressed. This is not God of War or even Heavenly Sword, though it tried very hard to be. There’s plenty of violence and action, but the combat doesn’t feel very smooth and the controls don’t respond all that well. There are different combos you can pull off, but random button mashing seems to work just as well. All that and graphics that don’t look very next-gen make this one game I’ll be avoiding come release time.
