Codemasters has pulled their major advertising campaign for the PS3 version of DiRT, as a sign of respect following the death of the game’s namesake Colin McRae.
A spokesperson for Codematers stated that they pulled the ads “With consideration to and in agreement with McRae’s family, there was a stop put on the TV ads that were planned to run on Sky channels at the weekend and through this week,” said a spokesperson for Codemasters. It was also stated that media owners were “understanding and cooperative”.
On Monday, Codemasters released a statement paying tribute to McRae, who had worked closely with the developers on multiple racing games.
