Codemasters Invites Players to Celebrate Father's Day Together in Middle-earth

Codemasters Online are inviting fathers from across the globe to celebrate this year’s Father’s Day in virtual style by taking part in the Father’s Day celebrations set to take place across Middle-earth in The Lord of the Rings Online.
Taking place on June 15th, Codemasters Online will be running a series of in-game Father’s Day events designed to celebrate this special occasion including father and sons fishing, music and fireworks as well as ad hoc competitions and challenges taking place throughout the day. Fathers are invited to attend these events with their sons and daughters and take part in the online festivities with the thousands of other players in Middle-earth.
“What better way to celebrate Father’s Day than spend it with your loved ones in the greatest fantasy world ever created?” said David Solari Vice President of Codemasters Online. “We invite fathers to come and enjoy the festivities that will we be running all day to mark this special occasion.”
I can’t really see me asking “the Deacon” if he would like to participate with me in some online gaming for Father’s Day. He thinks that stuff is evil incarnate along with drinking, smoking and cursing. Strange coming from a former biker who loved going to Bike Week and the like, but I digress. The celebrations are open to both existing and new players to LotRO, and new players can download the 14-day free trial to take part in the day’s festivities by clicking here.
Considering the fact that you can adopt other players as your children in LotRO, male players (or characters) may want to bask in the fatherly love of this special day by taking their adopted child fishing or maybe take them along on a good old-fashioned Giant slaughter-fest in Evendim. Or if Orcs are more your cup of tea, Dol Dinen is a great place to chop some of those ugly bastards up. If you happen to be in the area, look me up because I am finding it rather hard to get people to do the “Master of the Black Tide” quest with me.
