jericho 3 Clive Barker Reveals Jericho Video Game

Just in from Reuters, horror mastermind Clive Barker revealed his latest creation, the Jericho video game, at a recent industry conference.

In a world where the lines between the various form of entertainment media are blurring more each day, Barker says Jericho started out as a novel and evolved into a video game concept.

“Maybe if games hadn’t existed, I would have said, ‘Make it a movie,’” Barker said at the second annual Hollywood & Games Summit in Hollywood. “But I much prefer the idea of having 20 hours to play this world, to enter this labyrinth.”

Barker, the creative force behind the “Hellraiser” series and “Night Breed” which inspired a pen and paper RPG, says that the video game industry shouldn’t be overlooked. He claims to see big things on the horizon for an industry just two decades old.

“We can’t be highhanded or condescending,” Barker cautioned. “This is a very important area right now, and not just because it’s making a lot of money.”

The Jericho video game, a horror title set in a remote desert outpost, is slated for release in the fall.
