Claims of Loss of Imagination from Video Games

Fairy princessOh come on, does playing “Saved by the Bell” instead of “Fairy Princess in the Enchanted Forest” really mean you lack imagination?

No. It just means you watch bad TV.

A pretentious student wrote in to The Capital Times in Madison, Wisconsin, possibly because that’s what people do for a good time there, claiming that video games and electronic gadgets is taking away from children’s imaginations. And what does she use as the basis for her rant? Her own failed imagination and “work ethic.”

Sorry, Leslie, just because you can’t imagine ten pounds off of yourself to fit into your fairie princess leotard doesn’t mean the rest of the children of America can’t go off to wonderland in their own imaginations just because they play video games.

And some other people don’t even think it’s such a bad thing at all.
