NCsoft and Cryptic Studios are releasing the newest expansion to the City of Heroes/Villains franchise with “Issue 9: Breakthrough.†The expansion, which will be available free to current subscribers, will add a new crafting system and auction houses to the gameplay, creating a deeper experience for the online community. With the crafting system, players can use the loot collected from defeating enemies and completing missions to create their own custom-made enhancements and unique costume pieces. They can then either apply these items to their own character or take them to the auction house for some valuable currency. The expansion will also include new high-level missions, like the Statesman’s Task Force (shown above), and an update of the Hamidon Encounter that includes villains.

COOOOL…I was just about to re-subcribe to this game
Look for my has Ice-boy “something something” in the server Freedome!!!
Look for me has Ice-Boy “somethin somethin” in-gameo n the server freedome!!!
I really don’t know about this. One of the things I liked about CoX was that you could jump in, play for a bit, vendor the small handful of items you got, and then log off. I also liked how by level 50 my characters were all millionaires without having to gather materials. This feels more like homogenization, which is a shame because CoX is one of the few MMOs out that there that isn’t a cookie-cutter hack-n-slasher.
