Classic pen-and-paper module B1:The Keep on the Borderlands is unofficially marching toward becoming a digital reality thanks to the  fan group the Cirlce of 8. Built on top of Troika’s Temple of Elemental Evil, the original Dunceons & Dragons adventure is nearing Beta. ToEE, a commercial failure for publisher Atari and one of the final products released before its developer went under has enjoyed multiple fan patches and enhancements but this is the first full modification of the game.

Ironically, when Troika released the game back in October of 2003 they stated numerous times they intended to continue updating original D&D modules like Against the Giants and the Keep on the Borderland should the game sell well. Those who are interested in playing the new module should look for a cheap copy in preparation for this 3.5 adapted mod.

    Greetings,

how did it come, that ToeE was technically better than BG2, but only the circle of 8 mod was available? Sorcerers Net had dozens of mods (including adventures, guild add on, strongholds) where a better “sequel” of a game is ignored and neglected? Weird.

    My regards
