Children Learn about Shakespeare Through Video Games

Coinciding with the anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, a video game was launched recently by a Canadian university to help teach kids about Shakespeare:
“While zapping enemy spaceships players have to help recover the stolen text of Romeo and Juliet by memorizing lines from the famous play, learning facts about Shakespeare’s life and devising synonyms and homonyms for parts of the text.”
The game also links to an online database filled with multimedia resources related to the famous bard.
Personally, I’m still waiting for the story of Romeo and Juliet itself to be adapted into a video game. I’m thinking an MMORPG, where you choose to be a Capulet, a Montague, or just an independent character, like Mercutio. Okay, so mostly I just want to be able to yell, “A plague on both your houses, bitches!” and have it actually be relevant for a change. (If you got this joke, congratulations! You just passed High School Literature!)
