Another day, another demo on the Xbox Live Marketplace. It seems like demos are hitting every other hour, and this time we’ve got the FPS TimeShift, set for release on October 30. Using what’s known as the Beta Suit, you can control time (a shocking development, when you consider the name of the game) in single-player, or go online for some 16-player action. Official Xbox Magazine had an exclusive TimeShift demo some time back which wasn’t well-received, but since the developer has had time to continue working on the game, perhaps this demo will yield more positive results.

There was a very bad PC demo a while back as well.

Alrighty then, we’ve got bad demos all around. I haven’t had a chance to try the new one yet, but hopefully it’s better than these previous demos.

Here’s an interesting point for you guys that recall the last demo: They remade the entire game since then.

I had a really good conversation with the senior producer on Timeshift, Kyle Peschel, at E3. He said they were 7 bugs from releasing the old version when Sierra gave him another year to work on it, which resulted in some major changes to the game and the way it plays.

I think you’ll see the difference in the demo. I know I could tell a big difference when I played the demo they had for us at E3.

My thoughts on that E3 stuff can be found here: http://news.filefront.com/e3-2007-clocking-in-with-the-new-timeshift/
