All sorts of fun gadgets always make their way out of CES, and this one might be of particular interest to gamers. SoundTech’s Ediface is an audio peripheral that, when attached to a real guitar, will convert the instrument’s sound into digital MIDI format. SoundTech is claiming that using this, you could use a real guitar in Rock Band or Guitar Hero III.
That’s definitely really cool for those with the ability to play, and if you’ve got some skills and a guitar lying around, that might be your only option for a second guitar controller in Rock Band for now.
Or maybe a turntable is more up your alley?

This is awesome. I am definitely picking one of these up.
I won’t be, but that’s simply because I have no talent.
Do the makers of this gadget understand how the PlayStation works? The Guitar Hero controller is basically just a DualShock controller reconfigured to work like a guitar; it’s absolutely not a MIDI device. Unless they know something I don’t, this MIDI widget won’t accomplish what they’re suggesting.
