Hey, what’s that sticking out of the trunk of that car? Is that…. is that an arm? Maybe. According to Official Xbox Magazine, while playing the GTA IV demo, an information prompt came up on the screen when they came upon a parked car in the game. This prompt told the player to press the “LB” button to open the trunk of the car. This option has never been available in a GTA game to date, and the general consensus is that you can either put weapons in it, or *GASP! * a body! Rockstar North is keeping their lips zipped regarding this feature, and until they divulge more info we can only speculate on what the many uses of a car trunk in GTA could be – sounds creepy, but fun.

GTA fans, time to get your preorder on. Best Buy is listing GTA IV preorders for the console of your choice.
Let’s face it, we all know that the release date for GTA IV, whatever it turns out to be, is going to be a madhouse. Not everyone is going to get their copy. Sure, Best Buy may make some interest off your money, but at least you’ll get your game on launch day. Plus, you can secure your pre-order for only $5!
If you’re interested, you can preorder from Best Buy’s site for your console of choice, PS3 or XBox 360.

Spiderman 3 has to stay on top two more weeks to match it’s predecessor which maintained the lead for five weeks on it’s release three years ago. It will have some stiff competition next week with several new releases hitting the shelves. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, driven by movies sales, will be a stiff competitor. Mario Strikers Charged for Wii, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales for DS and Crash for PSP will also be released this Friday.

From a development standpoint, going for both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 is not setting the best stage for Rockstar Games.
Word on the street, or at least from 1up.com, is that the team putting together Grand Theft Auto IV is having quite a bit of trouble putting things together smoothly for both of the consoles. One of the key developers on the project says his people have a few technological limitations to tackle.
But there is no word on any sort of delay, so the game just might meet any deadline they set. It’s understandable, though–the Playstation 3 has quite a huge chunk of hardware wired into it, and the Xbox 360 may already have at least two layers of dust on some gamers’ shelves after sitting for a year and a half.

You may remember that last month, Take Two filed a suit against Jack Thompson. Basically, they were suing in regards to Thompson’s threat to sue to block sales of GTA IV and Manhunt 2. In traditional Thompson fashion, Wacky Jacky filed a countersuit charging that Take Two had violated the federal racketeering laws. In exchange for dropping this suit against Thompson, as well as the contempt charge stemming from the Bully case in Florida, Thompson has agreed to not sue or threaten suits that would block sale or distribution of any Take Two game, not to accuse Take-two or anyone who does business with them of wrongdoing for selling games, and to make any future contact with Take Two through their attorneys. It’s not a muzzle, but at least it might shut Wacky Jacky up for a while.

The trailer for Grand Theft Auto IV is now in the wild. It looks like every game site out there is talking about it so perhaps I should as well. Let’s see…it’s prettier than any other GTA title. There I talked about GTA:IV. I would tell you more but 1) You’ve got eyes and 2) I could really care less. I mean I’m sorry but am I the only person that thinks the concept is getting a little old? Hopefully Rockstar added something really fresh and innovative. Otherwise I’ll just have to be content with the soundtrack, which always rocks. Yea yea, I have an opinion, if your gonna hate at least buy the T-Shirt.
