We recently got the chance to check out the new Konami game, ‘Zombie Apocalypse.’ First and foremost, I must warn you before you read this review that I personally love zombies. Yes, zombie movies, zombie art, zombie books, zombie poetry and last, zombie video games. So, with that being said, I could be a little biased. Deal with it.

A little about the game:
Zombie Apocalypse is an action-packed arcade style shooter for Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network. In Zombie Apocalypse, gamers must plot a course through seven different environments and battle through 55 days of combat without succumbing to the zombie forces. Armed with an arsenal of firepower, players can choose from up to 11 varied weapons, such as hunting rifles, flamethrowers and teddy bears packed with C4 explosives to test their dual analog stick shooting skills. For daring players, chainsaws and environmental hazards can also be employed to annihilate large masses of the brutal undead.

Kojima Productions Countdown Teaser Reveals… More Teasing?

Kojima Countdown Teaser

As Ron pointed out the other day, a new splash screen over at Kojima Productions’ website featured a grassy field with distant lightning pulsing every once in a while to briefly reveal an image of a ‘5′ or ‘S’.

That countdown has ended, and we are now being teased with yet another countdown. As of this writing, the new countdown reads 102 hours remaining (just over 4 days).

Additionally, a random sequence of four flashing digits or letters are now being pulsed in the same fashion as before. My crude transcription skills read them out to be (in no particular order): ‘E3e5′

While this doesn’t exactly help clarify things, it sure does add fuel to the already blazing speculation fire. The letters ‘E3′ would obviously mean reference to the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo taking place June 2nd through the 4th.

So what do the other two letters mean? The first thing that came in my mind was ‘Se’ = ‘Snake Eater’. A port? A sequel to the prequel? A prequel to the prequel? Argh!

Or could it just simply mean ‘e5′ = ‘episode 5′? Double Argh!

Damn you, Kojima! *shakes fist* Damn youuuu!

Expect more countdowns, teasing, and overall sneakiness until our collective heads explode.

konami teaser New Konami Page Teasing Metal Gear Solid 5?

Over at the Konami website, there’s a shiny new countdown page (seen in the screenshot above). There’s no word on exactly what it’s a teaser for just yet, but if you visit the site, you’ll see it’s located in the Kojima Productions directory of the Konami site.

Each time the lightning flashes in the Flash driven countdown page, it reveals the outline of the number five. Whether this refers to Metal Gear Solid 5, or some other title, we’ll just have to wait and see. Maybe E3 will bring all the answers we seek.

Let’s just hope that if it is MGS5, it’s not featuring Raiden. I just don’t think I could take that.

Konami Cancels Six Days in Fallujah

six days in fallujah game 300x183 Konami Cancels Six Days in FallujahAccording to the LA Times, Konami has ended production of its upcoming game, Six Days in Fallujah. The game was originally slated to be a shooter that placed players in the events of the Iraq battle of 2004.

Six Days in Fallujah was being developed by Atomic Games, and was designed to give players a view of what the soldiers in Fallujah experienced. There were a number of Marines involved in creating the game, which is not surprising considering Atomic Games’ background as a producer of combat simulation software for the US military.

Unfortunately, a firestorm of criticism from groups that are both anti-war and pro-military ignited. Critics blasted Konami for attempting to ‘capitalize’ on a war that was still fresh in the minds of those who were there, and the families of those who gave their lives there.
