This week in Episode 9: Battlefield Quake, Ron and Shawn discuss the latest Quake game – Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and compare it to the Battlefield series in good and bad ways. Can this multiplayer entry in the Quake series live up to the ET pedigree?

Have you ever wondered just where the folks reviewing games get their ideas? Have you ever thought that you could do better than most of the reviews that you read? Have you ever wondered just what the heck reviews do for anyone these days?
That’s what we discuss this week in the File-N-Forget podcast featuring co-hosts Ron Whitaker and Shawn Sines. We took a break from deluge of the Halo 3 hype to discuss the role of the game reviewer in today’s video game marketplace. Halo 3 does get a mention in the Rants and Raves section, but not in the way you might think.
Make sure and grab the podcast here, and let us know what you think! You can submit your feedback, or your ideas for future podcasts to podcast@filefront.com.

It’s Friday, and that means a new File-N-Forget podcast for your enjoyment! First off, let me apologize for last week, when technical difficulties actually physically consumed our podcast. With those issues behind us, on to the new stuff!
This week, host Ron Whitaker and co-host Shawn Sines discuss a plethora of topics, including news from the Tokyo Game Show. We also spend a little time talking about games that have elicited emotional responses from us over the years. There’s also a brand new segment to close out the podcast, entitled “Rant or Rave.” Each week, all of our podcast participants will spend 60 seconds Ranting or Raving about whatever is on their minds that week.
Check out the new podcast page over at FileFront, and let us know what you think! Don’t forget that if you have any suggestions for our podcast, you can email us at podcast@filefront.com.

The third episode of Gaming Today’s File-N-Forget podcast broaches the question of when is too much hype a negative to a game’s potential success?
Host Ron Whitaker and guest host Shawn Sines discuss the Bioshock launch. Why Halo 3 is destined to fail and how games like Psychonauts, Crysis and GTA IV figure into the hype machine that is video game marketing and news sites.
We’re working on getting an RSS up and running for those who want to subscribe to the podcast but once you’ve listened, let us know if you think Ron and I are on the mark of just tools of the proletariat looking to foment hate and discontent.

It’s that time again folks. In the second episode of our podcast, I’m once again joined by Shawn Sines as we discuss an epidemic in gaming: The lack of quality titles in the summer. We also take some time out to discuss the soon-to-be-released titles that signal an end to these summer doldrums.
Tune in to find out why Madden 08 should be the last Madden ever made, and to hear why Halo 3 isn’t as great as you think it will be, since it means Microsoft still thumbs its nose at PC gamers.

That’s right folks. We’ve decided to inaugurate a brand new feature here on Gaming Today. It’s our podcast, and it’s titled “File-N-Forget.” Basically, you can expect an informal discussion of games and / or topics that are hot right now with the typical Gaming Today slant.
This week, Shawn Sines and I take advantage of the recently relaxed press NDA on the Tabula Rasa beta to give you our thoughts on the upcoming sci-fi MMORPG. We expose a few warts, discuss the game’s potential, and even offer up some thoughts on where Tabula Rasa fits in today’s MMO landscape.
You can download the podcast here. Enjoy, and let us know what you think!
