As promised, even more content was posted on the PlayStation Store yesterday, including a downloadable game I’ve never heard of (Fantasy Football: Draft Day Application?), all kinda of new trailers and videos — including part one (of three) of Sony’s E3 press conference — and some themes and wallpapers.
If you’ve been watching Gaming Today, you’ve likely come seen a number of the trailers already, but it’s nice to see them in all them glorious “P”s on your TV screen.
Hit the break for the full list of new content, and don’t forget to let us know what trailers you’ve enjoyed most.
While I’ve enjoyed both The World is Not Enough and Everything or Nothing, no Bond game has ever come close to touching GoldenEye. It’s one of the best shooters to ever grace consoles and used the Bond license extremely well, considering what was capable on the N64 from a technological standpoint.
The new trailer for Quantum of Solace has left me with mixed feelings. While I do like the action I’m seeing, I don’t really trust Treyarch to make a good FPS, even if it is running on the Call of Duty 4 engine. Combine that with their attempts to tie the game’s story in with Casino Royale and the Quantum of Solace film, and it’s all a tall order to make this a good game. I hope my worries are misplaced, as there are few things that can match the experience of playing a great Bond game.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.. if anyone ever invites you to visit a sleepy little lake town called Silent Hill, run screaming in the other direction because you’re probably dead or have some serious baggage in your past that will soon come back to bite you.
While from the initial impressions I can’t give you an overall sense of the story in this latest version of Silent Hill, I can talk about some of the changes that Konami and its development partner Double Helix Games are making to freshen up the long running horror series.
Silent Hill: Homecoming features a bit of a different protagonist for the series. Previous games always focused on the “everyman” characters in horrible situations, a staple of the survival horror genre. This time out the main character, Alex Shepherd is a former Airborne Ranger who is returning home and apparently is looking to discover the fate of his younger brother Jacob. Read the full article »
This has been rumored for quite a long time, but Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello has given us the final word: a Knights of the Old Republic MMO is in development by BioWare.
“We’ve got two of the most compelling MMOs in the industry in development,” said Riccitiello in an interview with Portfolio.com. The first title, based on the Warhammer property, will launch soon. “And the one that people are dying for us to talk to them about — in partnership with Lucas, coming out of BioWare, which is, I think, quite possibly the most anticipated game, full stop, for the industry at the point when we get closer to telling you about it.”
The interviewer then asked if Riccitiello meant a KotoR MMO, to which he responded, “Yes.” Sweet.
Star Wars fans will be rejoicing across the world at this news, since they’ll finally be able to clinging to Star Wars Galaxies. As excited for this game as I am — I’ll absolutely be on board for the game’s first day online — I certainly hope this doesn’t mean we won’t get another proper KotoR game in the future. The first one remains my second favorite Bioware game (right behind Mass Effect), and I’d really be happy to see a third game released. Between the MMO and the Mass Effect sequels, though, it seems unlikely that KotoR 3 is in the cards.
I’ve yet to speak with anyone who didn’t find Nintendo’s press briefing earlier this week to be a disappointment, but there were still several noteworthy things in there, such as the Motion Plus. Over on 1UP, you can check out an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto and Katsuya Eguchi, who is the director of Animal Crossing: City Folk.
Regarding Wii Sports Resort, Miyamoto confirmed that the game will require the Wii Motion Plus. That equates to a very pricey experience if you intend on playing multiplayer, since you’ll need to buy those second, third and fourth Motion Plus add-ons individually. Nintendo has yet to reveal pricing on the unit, but even at $10 – $20, you’re looking at a lot of money for a four-player session of Wii Sports Resort.
1UP also asked about the storage problems that Wii owners are having (you know, that one only hardcore gamers care about) and while they wouldn’t go into any specifics, Miyamoto did say, “We could potentially announce something in the near future.”
The 1UP show is going on constantly at E3 this week, what with 1UP being there and all. The guys plan on bringing you a new show for each day of the conference, and the one for day two is up right now.
In this edition, you will get to see a live demo for Halo Wars, and fell part of an exclusive interview for Dragon Age:Origins. I went ahead and posted the video this time.

Age of Empires: Mythologies will allow players to strategize as legendary heroes, commanding massive armies and shaping the destinies of three unique cultures in both single and multi-player campaigns.
This is THQ’s second foray into the handheld AoE realm with their first effort being Age of Empires: The Age of Kings. This tine around though, gamers will be able to step into the shoes of the Egyptians, Greeks and the Norse where they will control both heroes and monsters and call upon the powers of mythological gods to aid them in battle. A new combat system has been created for the game and it also includes unique maps, skirmish modes, game sharing, and new customization rules.
Currently in development from Gryptonite Games, Age of Empires: Mythologies is expected to be released this Winter just in time for the Holiday shopping extravaganza.
By now, Warhammer fans know that Battle March is an expansion to Warhammer: Mark of Chaos for the PC. Battle March builds upon the game’s tactical foundation to offer new units for each army as well as an original campaign and new online modes. Players will be able to experience the mysterious sorcery of the Dark Elves and the savage brutality of the Orcs and Goblins in an all-new chapter of the game’s single player campaign as they battle to overcome an invasion by the armies of Chaos.
Master the Art of War – Warhammer: Battle March focuses on commanding armies and battlefield skirmishes, while de-emphasizing tedious base and resource management

Customize your Army – Easy to use game editor allows for complete customization of your armies’ unit colors, banners and battlefield maps
Command Heroes and Champions – Heroes and Champions learn new tactics, unlock special abilities, command larger units, and engage in duels to the death
Dynamic Single-Player Campaign – Play through the conquests of three epic factions of a brutal Chaos invasion, the Empire, the Chaos and the all-new Orcs and Goblins
The Xbox 360 version of Warhammer: Battle March includes the original content from Warhammer: Mark of Chaos as well as all-new features, intuitive control schemes and support for online play via the Xbox Live online entertainment network.
Thrusting players into Games Workshop’s renowned fantasy world, players will be able to control six unique armies – the Empire, Chaos, Skaven, High Elves as well as the all-new Dark Elf and Orcs & Goblins forces – as they battle for supremacy in a world torn apart by constant warfare. The individual units of each army can be customized in great detail, allowing players to put their own mark on their fighting force and strike fear into their opponents with terrifying combinations of weaponry and armor.
Players can also control Heroes and Champions for each army, high-powered units that gain new abilities as they tear through the opposition. Placing the focus of gameplay on combat and tactics rather than tedious resource management, Warhammer: Battle March on the Xbox 360 features two control schemes for both master battlefield tacticians and novice warriors that offer full control over all aspects of the player’s army.
On Xbox LIVE, up to four players can engage in massive multi-army clashes in head-to-head and team-based modes of play.
You can check out all the cool screens fromE3 here, and both the PC and Xbox 360 versions are grouped together. You can also check out the Xbox 360 trailer by hitting the link below.
Since the Day 2 podcast was delayed, the E3 team thought you folks might enjoy getting a chance to check out Day 2 and Day 3 nearly simultaneously.
On Wednesday (Day 3 if you count Monday), the guys got a chance to check out Rock Band 2 (a game that I definitely want to hear more about). Now, I don’t know how they managed to get by without my amazing guitar skills, but they apparently did. They also dealt with something that was referred to as the ‘Konami Apocalypse,’ as well as getting some hands on time with Valve’s upcoming zombie-fest, Left 4 Dead. (Yes, that last bit makes me green with envy.)
You also get a chance to see what 3 days of sleep deprivation does to these guys, as they sound like they might be fraying ’round the edges just a bit.
