Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia Looks Like Every Other Castlevania

Konami has released a new trailer for the next DS installment in the Castlevania franchise. As you can see, Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia looks like every other Castlevania game from the past few years, which all look like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Of course, that’s not really a bad thing, and it actually makes sense since this game takes place right after the PS1 classic. This new game will have you playing as Shanoa, one of several people who have come together to fight Dracula’s minions. As usual, this means you’ll run around dank castles destroying monsters, collecting spells and abilities, and re-affirming that 2D side-scrollers aren’t dead yet.
They’re only “not dead yet” because stupid Japs think that people still WANT this kind of gameplay. “Oh, we pray dis game that full 3d but is side scrorrer! BIG POWER!!” Think about it.. if they can’t make a game where you decide where to go and what to do, instead of following a cheap-ass linear path, they don’t deserve to sell any games.
