pw4ds Capcom Q1 Sales Rise on the Wings of Phoenix Capcom has released the figures for their first quarter sales. The 31.5 percent rise of sales figures have much to do with the success of Phoenix Wright 4 for the DS and Resident Evil 4 for the Wii.

Phoenix Wright 4 DS has sold more than 500,00 copies, exceeding sales of any of the previous court room adventures.  Resident Evil 4 is also doing very well and Monster Hunter Freedom 2nd continues sales growth.

Despite the recent success, Capcom hasn’t revised its projected sales for the year due to poor performance of its arcade titles.

Go Capcom! I only hope they make more games for the Wii. I would like to see Resident Evil 5, a Devil May Cry, and Mega Man game for the Wii.

Mega Man seems to be more in the hands of DS now, if you’ll excuse the pun, but I would love to see the ZX series end sooner rather than later and get some Mega Man on the Wii. Old school, please! Nothing wrong with some side scrolling action on the Wii!

Err…anyway…I think Capcom is a good expample for others. Since the Wii is past the “fad” stage, anti-Wii people are often saying that only Nintendo can succeed on Nintendo consoles. Capcom puts some WORK into a DS and Wii title, though, and Pheonix won’t die while RE4 is cleaning up nicely.

Maybe the companies who are porting games to the Wii with a few worthless motion controls will see that if you make a game that works well with the Wii (RE4 has good controls and wasn’t even made specificly for the Wii), and some effort is put into it, it can sell well.

Maybe if they do make a Mega Man game for the Wii (we can dream…I may dream more than others…) maybe that could use the gamecube controler for it, too. Then when it sells well, everyone can see that if you don’t have use for the motion sensing, there’s no need to drain our batteries to try to find a place for it.

Show them the way Capcom! Show them the way!
