"That makes no sense at all! How can you have "too many zombies"?!"

Easily. I found the number of zombies in Dead Rising pretty annoying. They only served to demonstrate now bad the controls were and how much pop-in there was.

If you go for the (hardcore) achievements, Dead Rising is probably the most difficult console game I've played in a long time.

It's one thing to go around care free, killing zombies, not really caring how the story unfolds - with the ultimate goal of beating the game and returning it to Gamestop for your $10 *chuckle*.

For the masochist, it's an entirely different gaming experience when committing one's self (to the game, obviously) to saving as many friendlies as possible, doing "good" deeds, and accomplishing the "good" ending to the game.

What's cool about Dead Rising (much like the Hitman series), is they let you do both without preventing you from beating the game. It makes a linear game seem not so linear. It adds a little bit of replay value too (hardcore achievements or not).

I haven't been that overchallenged by a console title (Dead Rising) since doing accidents only +silent assassin runs through every level of Hitman: Bloodmoney (which nets you little reward other than the satisfaction that "you are awesome.")

Anyway, Capcom is making an intelligent decision here. Right now, exclusives are a stupid stupid business decision (unless you really really need a money advance). The only thing exclusives accomplish is provide fanboy fuel and "neener" advertisement. The goal is to maximize profit, not entertain fanaticism.

I suppose hardware limitations do make exceptions, but the Wii is in its own category alone anyway. It's always going to provide a different experience from the 360, PS3, and PC. Not everything translates to & from the Wii. The same could said for handhelds.

Motion controlled Streetfighter 4 would be very interesting. Imagine the injuries people would get! I'm gonna get working on my spinning bird kick.

That makes no sense at all! How can you have "too many zombies"?! Dead Rising is every zombie fan's dream. Millions of zombies all by yourself!

The 360 controls were not very good and the game wasn't dependent on lots of zombies. In fact, I was annoyed with the zombie density. Other than the achievement to walk on their heads, having that many zombies was overkill. I think with improved controls, the game could do well on the Wii. With the remote, guns might actually be useful. And 10-15 zombies is a bit of a stretch. I've seen screens with plenty more than that. I'll be picking it up for sure.

Well, Dead Rising only could be done properly on the 360. The 360 has 500-1000 Zombies on screen at once. The Wii version has about 10-15.

"it’ll be interesting to see if shareholders push for Capcom to release Wii versions of heavy hitters like Resident Evil 5...It seems unlikely,"

It does? RE4 was made famous on a Nintendo platform. It sold over a million on the Wii. The control scheme was vastly superior the original RE4 controls that are very likely to be used again in RE5. They're currently porting Dead Rising to Wii with similar controls, a game they claim could "only be done on the 360". Why WOULDN'T they do RE5 on Wii?
