Camelot Wants to Play Golden Sun DS, Too

I was a huge fan of Golden Sun on GBA. It remains one of my favorite games from the system, and it was (at the time) one of the few turn-based RPGs that I really loved. It’s been quite a while since we heard from the series; it’s been five years(!) since the second Golden Sun was released, but people are still clamoring for a new game.

The Takahashi brothers from Golden Sun developer Camelot spoke with Eurogamer about their new Wii game, We Love Golf, and near the end of the interview they dropped a few sentences that GS fans have been wanting to hear for a long time. After stating that Camelot is an RPG maker, the Takahashi brothers were asked if that meant Golden Sun DS was inevitable. Here’s what they said:

It would be great, wouldn’t it! [Laughing] We want to play that game too, just as much as you. We love Golden Sun! We are working on a lot of different things – a lot of different design documents and so on, including some different RPG ideas. Don’t worry, we’re thinking about RPG stuff! We’ve got all these ideas, many many different things we’re thinking about – but of course, we still have just one team, so we’ll see what happens.

Okay, so it might still be a bit of a wait until Golden Sun 3, but at least there is interest in developing it. That’s good enough for me.
