Call of Duty 4 `Bog Rescue` Gameplay Video

Finally! A Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare gameplay video! Infinity Ward released a new Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare video today which shows even though this Call Of Duty game is in a new “era”, the game still holds true to it’s Call of Duty roots.

The gameplay video does an excellent job of showing how hectic the levels still are and also show some amazing visuals such as smoke effects off in the distance, flares that illuminate the immediate area, and the use of night vision equipment. And it’s all currently in Pre-Alpha, so I could imagine what amazing visuals Call of Duty 4 will be capable of when it’s complete.

Hey someone help me, I am not a gamer but this game looked pretty cool. Don’t like keyboard to play on. Can i use a controller? I like controllers from the early nintendo days so…

Anyone have any ideas on this? Can’t seem to google anything on the subject except more questions.

Bought the 360 controller for pc but nothing so far.

  3. Rofl says:

Not sure what type of controler you could buy for a pc but a 360 controller DEFInately will not work. Gte a controller with a usb output.

  4. david says:

    figured it out

    belkin n52te

best case scenario fix, actually for a person who doesnt care and only interested in having fun this winter this belkin thing is cool…

maybe better than controller, actually theoretically could be easier for old guy like to figure out..

anyway google it you are looking for an option rather than keyboard.

FPS are best for consoles, that is a FACT, not an opinion. PC diehards do not have the skill or coordination to play on a dual stick controller, so they knock it, obviously. Why would some PC nerd admit to being uncoordinated? The mouse and keyboard setup is a cop out. As someone else stated, even some child could point the mouse at an enemy and click to shoot but won’t be able to do it on a dual analog controller. Also, PC fans define “immersion” as having your face 13 inches away from the monitor, all locked up in a room somewhere where nobody else is allowed to come in. I bet they’d stick their head through the screen if they could. Immersion is feeling the recoil of your carbine on your controller (for xbox 360 anyway, not so for the PS3)and shaking the entire house with the explosions going off on your 5.1 surround sound, sitting on a nice comfy couch, staring at a 50″ HDTV, with people around you enjoying the game as they watch you play.

  13. david says:

    saint,

    you are silly.

so much anger young man. Today you canhave a media pc connected to your living room plasma and surround sound board and faster processors than any console. Anyway, the controller thing is nice with reverb. But you can get that belkin thing and a usb/bluetooth airmouse(so you don’t need to have it on a table) like a Wii controller and shoot that way.

I guess the word is peace out. stay in school.

  14. Jose says:

    @ Slamdunk

Dude… its pretty much self explanitory. You click on multiplayer and just follow the instructions.

Anyway other than this mess. I was going to ask if anyone has beat the game yet on veteran. I beat it the other night, on the last level int the plane in 58.2 seconds in the main run. I was just wondering if anyone else has beaten the last stage faster than that?

Doesn’t that take the “personal” out of PC? Glad to hear that it is now possible for a computer to impersonate a gaming console, all for under $2k! I’ve got a better idea. How about buying a 360 instead? But I guess chicks will dig you more if you pull a McGyver and turn your PC into a console.

  16. slamdunk says:

I DID IT IT 54.7 SECONDS HA!!!!1 also is it tht simple, it just does it on the ps3????

  17. Jose says:

Did you do it on Easy or Veteran. Regardless, its probably still easier on the console because you have to use the controller. I know it was pretty challenging on the PC.

  18. slamdunk says:

na im only jkin i didn’t really i avn’t got this game yet im sure your the best ‘jose’

  19. Jose says:

    @ biscuitslapper

Take the Lords name in vain 2 times in one post.
I hope your proud. You shame yourself.

  20. ROCK says:

I am reading these and just laughing away. I play on both xbox 360 and PC. I agree that some games are better on specific systems. I do, however, like playing on my 360 better b/c i have it connected to a HD projector on a 93 inch screen and DTS surround sound. But again certain games should never touch a console. For example- Quake wars Enemy territory should have never left PC.
I think what ever you play on is a personal choice and there is no right or wrong. So I say JUST PLAY and kick ASS.

Also Bioshock & COD4 looks amazing in 1080I at 93 inches. Game re-play is high as hell.

Halo 3 just as disappointing as Halo 2.

Oh Yeah. CRYSIS will be awesome.

  21. anonymouse says:

There was a comment that said how most gunfights usually end in less than a second on PC compared to 3-5 seconds on a console; all I can say is get an actual gun and turn 180 degrees in less than a second and see how accurate you are… The truth is you need to move methodically with a fire arm or else your aim won’t hit the broad side of a barn. I like both PC and consoles, but the whole twitch thing is exciting but unrealistic in the PC environment.

  22. anonymous says:

Guns are heavy, and it’s not realistic to move so fast and maintain the pin-point accuracy that mouse and keyboard allows.

  23. JoeyG says:

Wooow it is an awsom game got it and compleated it it is fukin well short game but its amazing everythin, graphics are best ever so far for a shooting game amazing gameplay was on the edge of my seat the whole time so amazing like the boat tipping over while ur in it its confusin coz u dont know where to go the screens tippin with the boat lol, but i dunt know how to find a mach online i press find mach it says at the top right side looking for mach and dosent find 1 omg but ive herd its awsom online somone HELP

  24. PaulJC says:

Patience my dear joey G – simply give the ps3 time to locate a game from lobby which has just finished playing, patience.
Meanwhile, Can anyone tell me if a bluetooth keyboard and mouse are compatible with COD4 as it is the interface choice for me in first person shooters, not that I think its is any better or worse then the dual analog joysticks its quite simply what i prefer to use. ta

  25. PaulJC says:

And also one more comment if anybody has finished the game and thinks it is short simply turn up the difficulty setting from recruit to the next level to further improve your aiming and tactical skills!! please someone answer my previous blog question. thx

  26. captainnickface says:

look left     COD 4 is next gen. graphics but the problem is its still too planned out. If they really try a new medal of honor would be kick ass. i bought airborne and it was immense. The levels were bit short but it was good. Imagine COD 4 with MOH i think it may work. BTW W A S and D are all that id need to kick a player using analog. Guns don’t kill people online fumbling with analog sticks do.

  27. jok says:

is cod 4 better for console than pc

  28. rofl says:

Jok i’m sorry but that is the most immature comment ive seen on thisforum yet. It is a matter of opinion of what it is better on.

  29. niclas says:

bluetooth or usb keyboard and mouse connected to ps3. awesome graphics and best control system for FAR less cash than equivalent pc setup. pc and console have their pros and cons but the gap between them is closing. if you got loads of cash then pc will be better (at the moment) but bang for your buck console has always had it.

  30. niclas says:

paul jc, there is no keyboard and mouse option yet (you can use 3rd party accessories for playstation 2 to use ps2 (pc) connector keyboard and mouse) but soon there will be full wireless and usb keyboard and mouse support. a software update will allow this. sony might decide to only allow sony products to be used but i doubt this since they have been VERY open wih the system so far what with the choice of running windows or linux on it, using 2.5″ laptop hdd’s and connecting loads of bluetooth accessories from other manufacturers. it won’t be long until it’s ready and then i’m going straight out and buying that super skinny bluetooth metal keyboard by apple. at the touch of a button you’ll have the brilliant keyboard and mouse setup which is is so needed to truly enjoy the briliant fps titles on console.
i have a pc and a ps3 and i believe that the keyboard and mouse is the best control system (for first person shooters) at the moment. the only improvement i can think of is incorporating an analogue stick for movement without sacrifing the sheer quantity of keys the keyboard has to offer. first person shooter aiming is best done with a mouse. any console gamer who says it’s better with dual analogues either has auto aim on or is just bitter because his pc won’t run the latest game/console doesn’t have keyboard and mouse.

mouse is better than analogue for fps. it’s a fact. it’s not subjective.

  31. rofl says:

Well niclas you have the right to an opinion. Analog is fun if there isn’t auto aim, mouse is pretty good, and I have to say the wii remote is pretty good for fps aswell.

  32. listen says:

    @jose
your 100% right. the the gamepad is entirely to slow making it less of an fps and more of a first target first kill.
@everyone else. it’s not more of a “challenge” when you see somone and it takes u 30 seconds to target him (very high sensitivity) and turning around to kill somone when ur shot from the back? IMPOSSIBLE. unless of course hes entirely to stupid to even play CoD

  33. niclas says:

there are already cross-platform games. in time, more games will be cross-platform and when your game becomes cross platform, you’d better hope you’ve got a keyboard and mouse. no auto aim will save an analogue stick user from a keyboard and mouse.
if you like the way it takes a decade to turn 90 degrees with an analogue stick then i suppose you’re ok but when your KpD ratio is 1:47 i’m sure you’ll be sufficiently annoyed to go out and buy a mouse.
i have a wii too and it’s better than analogue for accurate aiming but it lags and hurts your wrist if you use it for more than 6 hours a day. scarface was was ok for pain but super mario galaxy ruined my wrist.

  34. rofl says:

Lolz yeah but I think anyone who plays more than six hours a day eneds to egt out more… Well then again I am on this forum so I can’t say much =P

  35. Beetleboy says:

Anyone who chooses to bash the consoles based on “having to buy a new one to upgrade” should check the price of the newest card upgrades for the PC.
Keeping a PC on the cutting edge is not a cheap endevour. I finally gave up that pursuit and am much happier on my 360, even with my retarded little gamepad.

  36. LOL says:

I will laugh if in the future consoles come standered with a mouse and keyboard .
    controllers  m/k

  37. LOL says:

and cod4 has auto aim feature on xbox 360 . why :?: :?:

  38. King Goit says:

PCs and Consoles have different strengths. For example consoles are excellent for driving games, adventure games and basically anything that benefits from a full analog input (ever tried playing 3D platformer and being limited to just arrows and diagonal run directions, SO FUN). Generally consoles don’t have ‘omg this game is not compatible with your soundcard/graphics/something random’ and until now they’ve been free of updates thus forcing games to actually be finished when they’re released. A lot of PC games are release now, patch later and don’t even work properly until a few patches in. Whether this changes with the new consoles we’ll just have to wait and see.

PCs rock at FPS, RTS and such like, have a massive breadth of accessories and don’t just play games. You can’t sign into teamspeak and chat with mates while gaming on a console (yet :P ) and you can’t mod games at all. In HL2 I hate the fact that headshots aren’t headshots so on a repeat playthrough (I did at least finish it as the devs intended first time through) I just edited the file that governed that part of the game. You can’t do that on a console.

Oh and as my friends put it when I suggested he get COD4 for his PC (he has it on PS3) he says ‘ah but I can’t play my PC in this chair, on this TV’

Which is true, and possibly the major difference between consoles and pcs these days :P

    :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: atention ur mam :!: :!:

  40. Wii Boy says:

Why is there endless “mine is bigger than yours” debate. There is plenty of room for all platforms.

I personally prefer the PC for FPS’s due to the precision of aiming but also have a 360 and love that.

    CoD4 makes your head spin!

  41. night_shade says:

i own this game , on pc , running a 3.2 gig prescott cpu at 800 fsb , a gigabyte 8600gt pci graphics with 2.0 shaders , and a 550wt power source , xbox360 comes no where near this , neither does a ps3 , and this game , fucking kicks ass ” sorry bout language , im sure were all adults here”

  42. night_shade says:

lol any any pc can be converted to run though a tv through either s video or hd i/o’s n and run very nice on a lcd tv over 50 inches , lol most high end pc chairs are better than couches and have longer seating times befor ur ass gets sore , if u ask me , consoles are for amitures , pc’s are for the creative bunch of us who want to mod games , mod there pc’s , upgrade to graphics cards that are being produced ahead of the games being developed , this game supports 2.0 shaders but in the 9 series g forces they have 3.0 shaders , games still arnt being made for this , you can run a pc in sli or get an addapter to run 4 monitors in sync of the one pc , all this and im not even a pc geek lol , i just got brought up on lego and realise , you can build anything better than anything pre manifactured on the market by any console developer
