Bungie Shoots Down Bots, Campaign Objects in Forge

Bungie issued a video acceptance speech at the Edge Awards earlier this month which sparked any number of rumors, including the addition of bots and support for Halo 3 single-player objects and NPCs being added to Forge. All of those dreams were shot down this past week as Bungie issued a denial on all of these rumors in its most recent Weekly Update.
Former 1UP News Editor turned Bungie writer extraordinaire Luke Smith issued the following clarification:
There will be no insertion of Campaign objects, enemies or friendlies via the Forge as folks have speculated. There will be no “bots” added to the game. The “set” on Rat’s Nest was designed to appear like a backlot of a film set, a holding area, not some depiction of a brand-new feature that implements Campaign objects into multiplayer. Do consider this issue a closed one. Calm yourselves down, pump the brakes, and take a breath.
There’s no reading in between the lines there; looks like we’re simply not going to be seeing that functionality in Halo 3. On the bright side, we do have a solid date for the second title update to Halo 3 and the September playlist update — the two will be released simultaneously on September 16. Expect to see modified versions of maps, including versions of Epitaph and Snowbound with either zero or a reduced number of shield doors, Sandtrap without the giant Elephant vehicle, and plenty of other changes which you can read about in depth at Bungie.net.

That’s pretty dickish of them to just close the issue on a lot of things that players want. Halo should have had bots from the beginning. Bungie are too fucking arrogant, seriously. They call themselves ‘perfectionists’…Halo 3 is far from perfect. My brother is a goddamn pro on it and he can point out a dozen huge flaws with simple fixes within the game, multiplayer, single, and matchmaking.
Fuck Bungie for not listening to their fans.
is it cOLD in here? Oh-em-gee! I saw this video like two weeks ago, come on!
@MastafaG
Hey fuckwit, did you even read the article? Of course the video is old, and it isn’t the focus of the story.
Go rot, you piece of shit. Or better yet, read it again, comprehend it, and then join the human race.
Just calm down I know your super pissed about Bungie not releasing more Halo crap, but seriously go get some anger management for that you obviously have some issues. Or play more halo like a good lil ADHD boy and take out your frustrations there with the other 13 yr old kids.
I don’t even have Halo 3 but I can definitely see where Buddy is coming from. I’m just surprised that Bungie decided to stamp out this idea rather than let their fans run around speculating. Besides, from what I’ve seen of the Halo 3 Forge, campaign objects added in would greatly extend Halo 3’s lifespan and diversity.
After all, Halo is next to nothing without the incredible amount of hype surrounding it. It’s actually a bit sobering to hear a Bungie employee suggesting that we should all just calm down.
Yea FFS we should be bashing the Halo nubs not each other… I come from playing PC games since I was a toddler since Doom and I began playing them over consoles since I played Red Faction.. Theres so much hype on Halo 3 its old game I got bored of it before the month was up, I sold it, I haven’t touched my 360 in weeks…why are people still playing it?
