Bungie Reveals Details for New Halo 3 Map

Bungie seems to be just cranking out the map packs for Halo 3 these days (and then selling them for $10 a pop), and they recently revealed some details concerning one of the newer maps. The map, called “Moonbase Alpha,” will apparently sport some pretty clever features:
As we mention in the Q&A following this, “Moonbase Alpha” now has large opening doors and more unusually, a kind of unlockable jump over a deadly chasm. In its locked state, a jump over will almost always result in death. Unlocked, it becomes an easy jump and a simple shortcut. More and more, this map is beginning to appeal to my interests. At first I thought it was just a bit too large, but now that I know my way around it, it’s brisk enough to support even one vs. one games.
Bungie also mentioned that giving the map a name is something they do in the final stages, so this DLC could show up on XBL pretty soon. I’m just hoping they make the old map pack free when that happens.

I actually got to play some of the new maps from the last pack today because my entire party actually purchased the content. I think it’s time they start dropping some free maps our way.
Oh, they’ll make that last pack free as soon as they release this next batch, because then the other ones will be the ‘old’ batch that no one wants to pay for anymore. Fickle consumers that we are, I have no one to blame but myself, as I spend the few dollars on the new maps like a sucker everytime, and will probably continue to do so.
WTF 1 just paid 4 the heroic and they sucked. they dont even put the people who paid 4 them in matchmaking together, so if u want to play what u paid 4, u have 2 play boring unranked games. If they make them free then i got nothing for actually paying 4 them. bungie wtf!
I heard that bungie will be releasing the heroic maps in May for free, Because the legendary map pack is set is to be released also in May for a minimal fee, so the old heroic maps which features foundry, rats nest and standoff will be free and playable to all social and ranked
