Bungie’s Frank O’Connor recently made some statements to combat fears over the lack of polish in Halo 3. While Halo 3 is a significant upgrade from previous Halo versions, fans seem to think the graphical disparities between Halo 3 and Gears of War is too great to ignore. Here’s what Frank had to say about some of the negative reactions leveled towards the beta:
“Well to be honest, we’ve seen them [the graphics] praised too. Multiplayer is by necessity a more sterile iteration of our graphical style and will always be tuned for performance and elegance rather than jamming the screen full of pixels. We think that the final aesthetic look of our game will be judged at launch in September and in part based on the more intense single player spaces.”
Looks like the single player campaign in Halo 3 will be the showcase for the graphics. Let’s hope they release an HD trailer showing some of the campaign, so we can put our fears to rest.
