Man, those Joss Whedon fans must be relentless if there’s another Buffy the Vampire Slayer game coming out all of a sudden. Nevertheless, 505 Games has announced they’ve licensed the franchise for an upcoming DS game to be developed by Romanian studio, Beast. The game’s story will take place after season seven and will be penned by Rob Deshotel, a writer from the TV show. The action will take place in the third and first-person with Buffy using a variety of weapons, spells, and martial arts moves to dispatch all sorts of undead baddies. Says Elie Dekel, Executive Vice President Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising:
“Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a franchise that continues to excite people around the world. Although there are no new productions of the series there is an enduring legacy that lives on through syndication, comic books and video games like these. We’re sure DS players are going to love this version.”
Hey, that’s nice, but so long as we’re mining Joss Whedon’s past creations for game, could we pretty please get a good Firefly game?
