When I was a kid poison was the sh!t. Like most stars from that era, Bret never did anything afterwards. I cant think of many that were reputable back in those days can really fit into todays music without a ton of haters and many of even their original fans now thinking they are a joke. Slash is an exception I think but hes always been the quite guy in back never doing anything over the top or out there but just standing there lookin cool strummin his guitar. I think many glory days are not meant to be relived… the era of glam rock definetly being one of them.

If it made you as much money and got you laid as much as Bret Michaels in the 80’s, you’d wear panties on your forehead and dance to polka.

Glam Rock was the scene. It had plenty of great, memorable songs and loads of horrible derived crap. LIKE EVERY MUSIC ERA!

Poison did well in their day. Some of us still enjoy their music.

Being bitter only proves how much of a loser you are. Go listen to some whiny moaning bitter rock act on MTV and enjoy hating everyone who’s ever been successful in life.

I’m not sure where you guys get you stats, or if your just speaking from opinion. I’m thinking the latter. Anyway, Steve’s thesis on 70% and 29% of the GH audience is pure falacy. The 80’s was a decade of glory, sex, drugs and rock. Although I may agree on the 29% part trying to forget Bret Michaels, and I think Neversoft could have picked someone far better from the 80’s rock era than the Poison frontman…lets look at facts.

Video games are all about the children of the 80’s, myself included. I’d wager to say that instead of “70% of the GH audience don’t know who Bret Michaels is”, that 70% of you never heard a Def Leppard song on the radio or ever played a real Nintendo game on an original Nintendo.

You’re not thinking from a business aspect, and the fact is the people with money are in their late 20’s and 30’s, and we are the ones who buy the games either for us, or for our kids. Neversoft could give a crap less what you think as a kid. They care what I think because of my wallet. And I think that GH Encore and GH3 are far superior to GH1 and GH2, in song quality and playability.

I started to make a list of 10 of the most awesome songs ever written that would be so sweet on guitar hero just to prove you wrong. About halfway through, I realized I would still need another 30 or 40 songs to make it worth it, so I quit.

70% of the GH audience don’t know who Bret Michaels is.

29% of the GH audience are trying very hard to forget.

The other 1% need to be put out of their misery.

This does make Neversoft seem desperate for attention. I hope this was some secret trade agreement. Something along the lines of “If you put Bret Michael in, we’ll give you the rights to these 10 arbitrary songs you’ve been dying to get into the game.”

Actually, I can’t think of 10 songs among any artist that would make that a fair trade.

I just hope that Bretts band paid Activision to get his tune in the game and not the other way around. I hate to think that at least SOMEONE didn’t profit off this getting forced on us. And haha @OJ gloves, nice. ^^

The Brett Michaels Band… never knew he had one outside of Poison. How sad…. and how sad for us that we will have to listen let alone “play” this tune on GH3. Yuk.

Either way, not only will this news NOT take wind from Rock Bands sales, but instead it will be a visious tornado pushing them to victory. I was previously rooting for GHIII over rockback because these games are getting WAY too expensive, but with Brett “D-Bag” Michaels on the scene for GH, now all of a sudden I’m not sure which way to go.
