Braid is the Highest Rated XBLA Game Ever; Sales “Surprisingly Good”

Braid was released just last week on XBLA to much acclaim. Right now, it’s actually the highest rated XBLA title of all time, according to Metacritic (at 92/100) and the official game blog. In fact, it’s even the tenth highest ranked Xbox 360 game in general. That’s certainly impressive for a fiendish little puzzler (that has also been known to drive many insane).
To top it off, Braid’s sales are doing “surprisingly good,” according to the developers. They say that it’s sold somewhere “in the neighborhood” of 28,500 units so far. Sadly, this still isn’t enough for the game to turn a profit. Time will tell just how well this game does in terms of sales, but if Braid isn’t profitable, then the odds are against them being able to make another game anytime soon. In other word, buy two copies if you can and get everyone you know to buy this sweet, unique game.
