World of Warcraft players who have been spammed (in other words, all of them) will be happy to find out that Blizzard’s lawsuit against In Game Dollar, a company that power levels players and sells in-game items, has been settled with a permanent injunction preventing the company from doing business in WoW.
The lawsuit was filed last May, alleging that In Game Dollar was violating both the EULA and Terms of Use of World of Warcraft. As a result of the spam they issued, players suffered a diminished experiences and cost Blizzard revenue.
This is definitely a good step forward and sets an excellent precedent for the future; I haven’t actually noticed as many spammers in the past few days in the time I’ve spent playing. It might be a coincidence, but I don’t care – the fewer spammers, the better.
