With only a little over a month to go before Ken Levine’s wonderful world of Rapture is released on PlayStation 3, we’ve learned today that you might need to clear out some space on your PS3’s hard drive before playing. BioShock joins the growing list of PS3 titles with a mandatory install, with this one coming in at just under 5GB. According to Eurogamer (via videogaming247), the install takes a little over ten minutes which seems fairly inconsequential when considering how good a game you’re getting into.
During this year’s E3, 1UP’s own Giancarlo Varanini got to try out the PS3 version of BioShock, including some of the game’s exclusive downloadable content. It doesn’t do much to enhance the game’s story, but it did provide some puzzles with more complexity than that “1-2 punch” Atlus is so very fond of.
BioShock is scheduled for release on October 21 and will feature Trophy support out of the box. We’ll have more on the game as it gets closer to release, and in the meantime, check out the new ‘Action’ trailer that went up GameVideos just today.

10minutes for 10hrs .. not bad.
THe install’s have never been a time issue to me.. Merc 2’s was annoying though.. as it did not have a progress bar.
Nobody whines about installing anything on a PC. PS3 does the same, I don’t see any reason to even post this in the news.
