Oh, it is as bad. What’s even worse is that the deceiving bastards at Take 2 and Irrational didn’t disclose this little gem BEFORE their customers had already paid their money. Ever wonder why there are no refunds on opened game software? So publishers can pull shit like this.

Posters on the 2k forums have already confirmed that uninstalling does not allow subsequent activations. Apparently 2k lied. Additionally, people have already contacted SecuROM and were told that they had reached their activation limit, and that SecuROM would do nothing.

The people behind SecuROM and the people who made the decision to use this utterly asinine copy protection scam all deserve to be shot. Into the sun.

I hope that this DRM is fixed soon. Once 2K fixes it, or a scene group makes a patch or something to fix it, I actually will go down to the store and buy the game.

I give it about 72 hours until someone sniffs the packets that get sent when it gets uninstalled and writes a little shell app that will make it look like you unistalled it, or better yet a fix so that it will install without communicating to anyone.
