2007 was full of zany crimes involving video games. Some were funny and some were things I’d rather not think about. The most memorable of all crime reports I read in 2007 came out of Lakewood, Colorado. I’ve heard of some interesting crimes and this one just didn’t make much sense. The report of the crime from YourHub was as follows:

A “scruffy-looking” man in a gray hoodie allegedly stole nine video games from a video rental store on the 600 block on Wadsworth Boulevard at 5:20 p.m. Jan. 15. According to police reports, the man was looking at the video games when one of the employees noticed he was popping the cases off the games. The employee confronted the man and asked him give her the items, saying the police had been contacted. The man reportedly said, “I might as well take whatever I want then.” When the employee reached out to take the games back, the man allegedly said, “Come near me and I will hit you.” The man then reportedly left the store with his arms full and walked through the parking lot. The estimated loss was $350.

We’re sure 2008 will be full of similar odd crimes. Gaming Today wishes all of you a happy new year. We’ll be taking the day off on the 1st, but will be back on January 2, 2008 to bring you more exciting gaming news.
