Beaten Warcraft Player Story Is A Hoax

This weekend’s refuted news story is…..this one. I’m sure you recall the story of how a man was severely beaten for griefing a World of Warcraft character. It seems that this little hoax was apparently perpetrated by the folks at Fun Tech Talk.
The really sad thing is that it wasn’t a stretch at all to believe that such a thing could happen.

Whenever I hear World of Warcraft I think of of basements, pale skin and malnutrition.
That story is not a fake! It came from a local Mexico City University paper. I saw it 2 weeks before the funtechtalk story.
There are some holes in the story. The most notable is that this man from mexico was ganking the woman…also harassing her. If he was able to gank her then he was of the opposing faction which would make it impossible for them to communicate in game. They would have had to communicate via the wow forums…in which case he would have posted his address for all to see. The proof then, would be if we could locate the wow forum post containing this mans address…right?
I mean, unless she hangs out in the gurabashi arena all day…then I suppose he can gank her and talk to her as well.
Or he has multiple accounts and alliance and horde characters on the same server.
honestly though, these are the only 2 ways in which he can both gank her and give her his address.
