manhunt 21 BBFC Decides to Contest Manhunt 2 Appeal Decision

You might remember that, last Monday, it was announced that Rockstar had won its appeal regarding the BBFC’s rejection of Manhunt 2 back in June. The BBFC’s only remaining choices at that point would be to comply and allow Manhunt 2 to be released or apply for a judicial review of the decision. And guess what? Judicial review it is.

The British Board of Film Classification is not only attempting to overturn the decision of the Video Appeals Committee, but to also suspend the VAC’s ability to assign a rating to the game.

A statement released by the BBFC read, “The BBFC is contesting the VAC judgement because in the Board’s view, it is based on an approach to harm which is an incorrect interpretation of the Video Recordings Act. The VAC judgement, if allowed to stand, would have fundamental implications with regard to all the Board’s decisions, including those turning upon questions of unacceptable levels of violence.”

When will these people learn that they’re helping to garner more future sales for Manhunt 2 than the game would ever get on its own and that I’m beginning to run out of Manhunt 2-related images?
