Barbie an MMO? No Way!

As if little girls do not have enough issues, Mattel is once again reinventing Barbie for the prepubescent masses. In the past, we have had: CEO Barbie, Pregnant Barbie, Kissing Barbie, Cowgirl Barbie, and a slew of Barbie celebrities. Now, we have Virtual Barbie over at Barbiegirls.com where you can create your own Barbie Girl, play dress up, design your room, go shopping, chat, and cyber bully other Barbies less worthy than you.
Not only is Mattel pushing the site’s beta release to the point of crashing the page, it announced that Barbie Girls will also be available in an MP3 player reminiscent of the websites characters. The MP3 player, which looks like a doll, will turn into a live version on the site, and unlock special content. Just imagine the possibilities of a MMO crowded with mean little girls? I always knew Hell was pink.
