Assassin`s Creed William de Montferrat Trailer

We have received another trailer from Ubisoft for Assassin’s Creed, this one is the William de Montferrat trailer. Not much really to say about the trailer other than all of the Jade Raymond fanboys will be feeling twitterpated by the end of it because she is narrating it. Basically the trailer and the narrator tell a bit of history concerning William de Montferrat, and his place in the game. The visual quality of this trailer is not up to par with others we have been given but you cannot hold it against the game because the others have been just plain awesome.

This trailer is making me start to wonder. It seems like they made close combat way too easy, to the point where stealth tactics and escape strategies don’t seem like they are worth planning or the time required. As soon as the character jumped down for the assassination, the combat was just awful. You have guards surrounding you on all sides, and they still won’t attack even if they have a clear shot at your back. When you get knocked to the ground, they politely wait for you to get back up. Sportsmanship is all well and good, but if someone just assassinated your commanding officer, I think “fair play” is out the window. Also, the guards have some kind of hearing problem – there is a large group fighting less than 40 feet away (in a fortress, not a busy market), the culprit runs -right past- a guard, who should have at least noticed there was some kind of commotion rather than just stand there and get stiffarmed. When the narrator is talking about using people as obstacles (which didn’t slow the chasing guard down at all) there is a group of guards literally staring at you, and the character just runs through them. If you have played any sport or game, touch football or even red rover, you know it’s not hard to stop someone running in a bee line right into the center of the group. I like action games as much as the next guy, but the trailers shown for this game always end up with some massive group attacking you after you make the hit. If brute force escapes work every time, what is the point of stealth and planning? Also, rail-gun throwing knives?
