Assassin’s Creed Fastest Selling New IP Since 2002

Assassin’s Creed has scaled to the top of the UK gaming charts to become the second fastest-selling new IP since 2002’s The Getaway. The Xbox 360 version claimed 67%of sales, with the PS3 taking 33 %. It is the third fastest-selling Xbox 360 title within a weekly sales period.
Call of Duty 4, which was number one last week was pushed from its top spot with a 33% drop in sales. At number three this week is The Simpsons Game, while hilariously WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2008 is number four. Super Mario Galaxy debuted at number five as the fastest-selling Wii game, with Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training at number six with a 62% climb in sales. FIFA 08 fell to number seven, while Disney’s High School Musical: Sing It! climbed into the top ten at eight with a 170% boost in sales following its release on the Wii.
The only other new entry in the top forty this week was the PC-exclusive Crysis at number 14.
