Assassin`s Creed Developer Diary 2

A new developer diary has been released by Ubisoft today which has Jade Raymond taking us for a ride through Assassin’s Creed once again, this time, the topic is art direction.

The video describes how difficult it was to make the game as historically accurate as possible while still making it into something interesting to play for 40 hours. Also, Jade informs us about the different types of characters we will be sharing the world with. Ubisoft has created 300 different kinds of characters to ensure that we don’t see the same kind of character twice.

Another kind of cool little fact Jade tells us about is Altair’s name and the direction they went with his persona and style. Bird’s of prey were actually the inspiration for Altair, in fact, Altair means flying eagle in arabic. His hood has a point towards the front of it and the bottom of his cloak splits out into two. When Altair moves, his shadow resembles that of an eagle.
