Here’s a new trailer for the upcoming Sega/Nintendo collaboration, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games. The video mostly shows off some of the characters from both the Mario and the Sonic camps competing in various sports. I have to say, this video does a good job of making the competition seem epic. It fits pretty well too, considering this is the first time Mario and Sonic — arguably the two biggest names in video games — have ever been pitted against each other. However it still doesn’t make sense to see the overweight plumber keeping up with the sleek, super-charged hedgehog in a foot race. For a change though, at least this Olympics-themed game looks like it could be fun.

Certainly a well put together video…but Sonic has an advantage due to his speed in a LOT of events. I just don’t see how they can pull off the balance.
I guess they strip them of their “super powers” for the event? If not Peach or Tails would easily win the long jump
Heh, I guess that does make some sense…but still, honestly, Sonic losing in a racing event (note, any) just wouldn’t seem right. Perhaps if it is done on a scoring system, characters who are favourable for that get less points, so it’s more advantageous to use the ‘crapper’ characters?
Nice water graphics for a Wii, I wonder if the gameplay will look just as nice ?
