American McGee’s Grimm Hits GameTap Today — Play For Free!

This week’s GameTap update is one of the most anticipated ever, as the first episode of American McGee’s newest game, Grimm, hits today. Alien Stars has also been added to the GameTap catalog, but you’re here to read about Grimm, I know.

24 individual episodes of Grimm are being developed, each focusing on a classic fairy tale. First up is “A Boy Learns What Fear Is,” with the next seven weeks adding Little Red Riding Hood, Beauty and the Beast, and others.

Whether you’re a GameTap subscriber or not, you can play the first episode of Grimm for free right now, bringing the total number of games on the free play service up to 143. The remaining episodes will also be free to play for the first 24 hours on GameTap, and you’ll also be able to purchase individual episodes for $4 a pop.

The release schedule for the first volume of Grimm is as follows:

• July 31 – A Boy Learns What Fear Is
• August 7 – Little Red Riding Hood
• August 14 – The Fisherman and His Wife
• August 21 – Puss In Boots
• August 28 -  The Girl Without Hands
• September 4 – Godfather Death
• September 11 - The Devil and His Three Golden Hairs
• September 18 – Beauty and the Beast
