All Your Base Are Belong To Us

The term “All Your Base Are Belong To Us” has been popping up everywhere lately. It’s a phrase that became immensely popular about 7 years ago on the internet and is starting to resurface. The phrase was taken from the opening cut scene of the European Sega Mega Drive game ‘Zero Wing’, a poorly translated Japanese game by Toaplan. If you are a gamer, odds are you have either used or heard someone use the phrase “All Your Base”. I’m not sure if “All Your Base Are Belong To Us” will make a huge comeback, but it’s certainly on people’s minds again for some reason. Below is a video of the cut scene that started it all. The above news clip is from 2001 when the phrase first blew up.

I’m borrowing my friends bass guitar and I don’t think he’s ever going to ask for it back, so the next time I see him I’m going to tell him “All your bass are belong to us.”
lol
Thanks. I never truly knew where it came from (I’ve seen the clip before, but never understood why it was so popular). It is funny though, immensely.
