All Slots for Call of Duty 4 Beta Gone Within 8 Minutes

I felt a disturbance in the internet recently; as if a thousand voices cried out simultaneously with an outraged “WTF?” and were suddenly silenced when a website crashed. As Steve mentioned earlier, today was the day to sign up for the public beta for Call of Duty 4. But if you head over to the game’s official site right now, all you’ll be met with is a big “Under Maintenance” sign. Apparently, the company that maintains CharlieOscarDelta.com didn’t adequately prepare for the beta rollout and the site crashed, effectively denying scores of people their chance to get in. Before the everything went kablooey though, people arriving at the beta signup page were treated to this message:
Although Charlie Oscar Delta’s Token Codes have been reserved, there will be many more opportunities to get into the Beta! Check back into SITREP often, as we’ll be updating the site with information as soon as it’s finalized. In the United States and Canada, we are working with GameSpot and GameStop on two new ways to reserve a spot in the Beta. Our International users will be excited to learn that plans to get into the Beta are moving along quickly, and we’ll have updates for all the countries listed in the FAQ soon!
Yep, looks like all the slots for the beta were gone only eight minutes after they became available. Infinity Ward, however, is apparently not happy about the fact that so many people weren’t able to get into the beta because of the crash. They are apparently looking at new ways of handling it and should hopefully tell us more sometime soon.

I understand that you’re upset, but immature comments like that don’t put you up in first place on the list to receive new tokens. Grow up. Be happy there’s a beta for the public at all. Keep up the attitude and watch any chance of more betas in the future being a dream.

Exactly what you said. I believe they didn’t properly prepare for this, but at the same time I’m sure this info will be used just as any other info gathered from a beta, and this should be easily avoided the next time around.
It’s a Beta people,Part of an unfinished game. Please try not get get all bitter over something so trivial. It ia a good sign that so many wanted to play hope it lives up to the hype.
Comment one, I like games and all, but I am not going to skip school the FIRST day of the semester. It is called a beta for a reason, only a fraction of all the people who want in the beta are going to actually get to play it, and if you are not going to school just to get in the beta for ONE game, then that makes me have no surprise in your spelling and grammar.
