A new sci-fi action movie almost always involves a video game tie-in, and Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem is no exception. Sierra has announced that they have shipped a PSP game based on the movie to retailers nationwide today. The game will have you playing an elite Predator trying to eradicate all traces of the Aliens on Earth. Of course, there’ll be a few pesky humans to take out as well. You’ll have access to all of the Predator’s weapons and technology, including cloaking and different vision modes. There will also be a co-op mode, so you and a wireless companion can both play Predators trying to survive waves of attacking Aliens.

“The Aliens vs. Predator-Requiem movie promises to provide a thrilling experience, and we are very excited to get the adrenaline pumping before the big screen battle begins with this exclusive title for the PSP system,” said Pascal Brochier, president, Global Retail for Vivendi Games. “Twentieth Century Fox has been an excellent partner, and we are very proud to be giving the fans of the franchise this action-packed interactive extension of the AvP series.”

I’d normally completely dismiss a video game base don an upcoming movie, but this one has been developed by the same team that worked on the AvP games for the PC, which weren’t half bad; so who knows?
