Strategy games haven’t been explored much on the Xbox Live Arcade or PlayStation Network, so this week’s release of Age of Booty already has something going for it. This real time strategy game puts you in control of pirate ships with one noble goal in mind: To plunder villages.
Age of Booty clearly has a focus on multiplayer action, and the game’s trial version on Xbox Live Arcade demonstrates this by allowing you to play online without buying the game — a rarity we wouldn’t mind seeing more frequently. Capcom is heavily touting the fact that Halo 2 and 3 multiplayer designer Max Hoberman is working on the game, so we’ll see whether that was worth the bullet point this Wednesday when the game is released for 800 Microsoft points ($10).
