Apparently a casting survey was given to International and American audiences on actors being considered for the lead role of Prince Dastan in Jerry Bruckheimer and Mike Newell’s Prince of Persia: Sands of Time movie and the results were surprising. Why you ask? Well because Orlando Bloom was being considered for the role, and he was not the one who was favored most. When I first heard this, I figured there must have been little to no women in the audience because lets face it, he is very very pretty. But, what confused me most was the inclusion of Zac Efron on the list – I mean what sort of fresh hell is that? However, when I looked at the picture of the actor audiences chose, I had to catch my breath for a moment before I realized that apparently quite a few women HAD to have been present after all.
David K. Zandi, who was the actor chosen, is a champion equestrian, model, motion picture executive, hunky beyond belief – and if his credentials (ahem) were not enough to convince you – take note that he is also a prince. Yes, a REAL PRINCE. He is one of the last male members of the Persian Zand Dynasty (1747 – 1779) who has studied fencing and Roman sword fighting in England, played ice hockey, volleyball and football in high school, studied martial arts, and is very very good looking.
I read back over that and it sounds like an internet dating ad. Regardless, if Bruckheimer and Newell pay heed to their questionnaire, then you are looking at the new Prince of Persia folks, er, well, the actual Prince of Persia.

More importantly, how are his acting capabilities?
Who cares! I would probably watch it with the sound off and still enjoy it.
Hah! That’s awesome
From the “dating add” it seems he was born for the role.
wonder if his experiences as a prince of a Persian dynasty including crazy acrobatics and fighting anonymous henchmen
And don’t forget having the ability to control time with a dagger. Hope he can’t die from falling 10 feet too.
Ok, im a straight guy and after that little bio I think i’m in love with him
I mean come on Roman sword fighting?
and of course, henry the horse, dances the WALTZ!
seriously, a lot of cocaine…
Stephany while your in dream mode,i for one am not if he can’t act worth a dam im not watching this junk.I mean im a guy i like women im not gonna come to the movies and watch this dude be pretty,i wanna see some action some time shifting not some dam dude be happy cause he is pretty to u.
Oh James, lighten up and get a sense of humor!
Seriously, he should be the prince, but noooooo! they’re using Jake Gyllenhaal for the prince “Dastan”. Seriously this is going to suck. I am a Big FANGIRL of all of the PoP series, and i am thoroughly dissapointed that they’re not going to use this guy who was BORN FOR THE PART!
freaking Disney
