I bought CoD4 a few days ago and it worked only 2 or 3 times.
In 99% ít says “Downloading Game Settings”.
CoD 5 is working fine.
Whatever! CoD4 is the last Activision game i bought !

Also i highly recomend that u do not buy any more activision games. as i bout gh4 from them. And after about a week my drum kit broke. so i called activison and they sed they would send me a an extra symbol but they didnt.so i have gh4 and i am really anoyed so DONT by activisoin games.

ok seriously wut is up with this.
i have had my game for 3 day’s and i t has only worked online 1 time.
everytime i try to play online i say’s downloading game setting and say’s this and doesnt change.
i am really anoyed so if u can help please do

I find it funny that they dont seem to be much better. You still get this error message saying you must be signed into the ps3 network yet I am fully aware I am . I have a DMZ port etc all sorted and my connection is 100% on broadband with a wireless router.

It is comical because I phoned them up yesterday to make a complaint and a american man stated to me there are no problems and he never heard of any. He was rude and when I wanted to make a complaint I was passed onto a voice mail system and left a msg. I think that activision needs to upgrade everything very quickly after all we paid for this service and game. With the respect that COD5 has been released I am sceptical that it will be any better with connection issues.

Im a gold cross but i get annoyed with downloadin game settings trauma ….

i have to switch my rooter on and off for it too work but how long before i fuse my rooter

To fix the “Downloading Game Setting” when you click on Find Game what I do is disconnect my ethernet cable from the back of my PS3 for a few seconds, reconnect it, power off the PS3 on the switch in the back, turn it back on and then proceed as normal. Pain in the ass, I know, but it works.

What annoys the piss out of me is all the “Connection Interrupted” errors I keep getting when there is no interruption in my connection. Every so often it kicks off the PSN completely and I have to log back in. Everytime it boots me from a match it counts as a loss and that’s bullshit. What’s monumentally bullshit is that when it happens, for those few seconds before it boots me when it’s trying decide if it wants to work out the issue or not, is that I can shoot people dead on and they don’t die yet they shoot me and I die. So it affects my win/loss ratio and my kill/death ratio all in one.

I finally called Sony this morning and the guy told me to call Activision and get the port numbers for COD4. Then to call my router company, in my case D Link, and have them open up those ports. In case anyone is wondering I have a wired connection through my router and not wireless. I called Activision and after 5 minutes of playing FUCK YOU with their IVR I got a message that they don’t open until 9am Pacific. So I’ll have to call back later I guess. Fun times.

Also, I noticed that if you are playing with people that have terrible red connections, it affects your connection, too. Same thing with good connections. CD4 Rocks.

Call of Duty 4 is a great game and great online. If you have lagging problems, its probably because you have a crappy connection, or your router sucks. The only problem I have is the Downloading Game Settings. Whenever I click play online, it says it, but goes away in a couple seconds. They should fix that. And, does anyone know what Host Migration is? Thanks.

hi there, wat u have 2 do when it says downloading game settings is just wait for a while when a update comes out it usually works then just be patient it should start to work eventually ! good luck with it.

if you have a wireless router try turning it of for a day and once done that turn it back on and it should work perfect for a while (well it worked for me)

I cant play online cuz of the DOWNLOADING GAME SETTING always stops downloading! When will this problem be fixed?
