A Look Inside The Commodore XX Gaming PC

Crave.cnet.co.uk recently had the chance to take a look inside the XX machines at the underground gaming bunker of Commodore in Soho, London. I’m definitely jealous considering these new Commodores are some of the most powerful gaming systems available. More photos of their event follow the break.
Pictured is a de-panelled XX machine. The internal design is as impressive as the exterior. First up, there’s a pair of Nvidia 8800 GTX GPUs in SLI configuration. An Intel Core 2 Extreme quad-core CPU powers away behind a custom-modified cooling system from Arctic. Two gigabytes of Corsair Dominator memory sit alongside the CPU, along with X-Fi audio from Creative and a pair of 10,000 rpm hard disks in RAID 0 configuration (a 500GB disk sits quietly inside too).

It’s a bit naff that it uses an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro. It does a good job (I should know I have one) but water cooling would enable a far higher overclock.
I’d have to agree. Water cooling is the way to go.
Looks they are using that ice-cube powersupply tho, that lowers heat considerably. was planning on replacing my psu with it aswell.
Yeah, I’ve been looking at one of those rigs, that Icecube PSU actually cools the air going into the Artic, which should be pretty effective
Don’t get your hopes up on getting one separately now though, I’ve tried to get one but it seems Commodore is the only one selling those things.
