manchildgame1 A Child Man, and Man Teen, and a Female Gamer Walk Into a Bar...Where the other week seemed to be all about Fox’s Mass Effect blunder, this week is all about the idea that adult gamers are all stunted man-children. You may recall this whole idea surfaced recently with a couple of recent online articles claiming the rising popularity of video games was almost directly indicative of the male population not wanting to “grow up” in the traditional sense. I’m not even going to begin to discuss what’s wrong with blaming men and/or video games for the general changes in social dynamics over the years; Shawn already did a very thorough job of that last week. But I will point you towards one more article, titled “The dark ages,” that pretty much follows the same course, but uses the term “man-teen” and equates men to gaming manatees. However, then there’s another article written by *gasp!* a female gamer, who of course argues against all of these ideas and concludes that one’s gender and choice of entertainment is not the only deciding factor in how (in this case) a marriage works out. Enjoy.
