Xfire, the free tool that keeps track of what games you and your friends are playing on PC – and easily allows you to join them – has now surpassed the 8 million user mark. Alongside this announcement, Xfire announced that 60% of its users are located in Europe, while the other 40% are in North America. More than 120,000 years of gameplay have been tracked by Xfire since it launched. Eat your heart out, Halo 2.

Throughout August, there was over 440,000 hours of World of Warcraft gameplay played on average per day. Per day. Keep in mind that’s only gameplay of people using Xfire. Absolutely incredible.

Steam and Games for Windows have some serious competition to deal with.
