3D Realms Declares E3 “Irrelevant”

3D Realms chief Scott Miller stated in a recent interview with Next Generation that E3 has become “irrelevant.”
“It’s just that we view E3 as irrelevant nowadays. In fact, I wasn’t even aware it was coming up,” he said.
It’s true that E3 isn’t the be all end all it once was and some companies have chosen to fore go attending this year. However, I hardly believe it’s no longer relevant to the games industry. As for Miller not being aware that E3 is coming up; maybe he’s been locked up working on Duke Nukem Forever too long. Development is said to have begun in 1997. My question is, by the time it finally comes out, will a Cold War 80s hero still be relevant?

Duke Nukem is ALWAYS relevant.
I declare 3d realms irrelevant.
Lets listen to a company that takes a over a decade to make a first person shooter, that won’t bring anything new to the genre but one liner quotes, which will get old after the first level. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed Duke when I was a teenager but just based on how long they have taken they can kiss ass on me buying another installment.

Ah, yes…nothing like being in a hot,sweaty convention hall that’s crammed up nerd to nerd with half a dozen games nobody bothers with, instead the crowds are around two maybe four games.
Bottom line: he’s right..companies are pulling out of E3 left and right…reasons?

Oh please…Stop acting like a child who just had their feelings hurt. The truth is 3D Realms is one of the greatest vaporware punchlines in the history of PC gaming. Embrace the fact, because it’s not going to change anytime soon. So instead of sulking about it, join in on the fun.
Just wanted to add that my comment was pointed at Scott Miller.
